First Shot Training is run by Robert Floyd. He is a Certified NRA Basic Pistol Instructor with more than 25 years of teaching and training experience and more than 25 years of hunting experience. He is an Eagle Scout. He has held a Texas LTC for more than six years and has more than six years of personal carry experience.

Why Get an LTC If Texas Has Permitless Carry?
Texas allows many adults to carry without a license. So why do people still get one? A few reasons come up again and again.
- A Texas LTC is recognized by a number of other states. Permitless carry is not.
- Some Texas rules treat a license holder differently from someone carrying without a license.
- The class itself teaches the law, safe handling, and storage. That is worth having either way.
